Originally we published a blog post indicating that while there were no changes for 2025 to the MS-1 Report file specification, we were nonetheless waiting to receive a list of changes to utility company names for 2025. Then we received the list so we sent those utility company name changes out to all of you in a subsequent blog post. There was just one slight problem — the list we received was incorrect. Fortunately, this was noticed/questioned by a thorough reader who contacted DRA (thanks, Tom!) and DRA notified us on Tuesday that they, rather than a vendor, would provide us with the correct list.

See below for the correct list and a reminder of what this means for you with respect to generating your 2025 MS-1 Report and submitting it to the DRA:

• If your municipality DOES NOT include one of the utilities listed then… congratulations! You can generate, export, and submit your 2025 MS-1 Report to DRA with the current version of Avitar Assessing in coordination with your assessor. You do not need a script or a software update in order to proceed.
• If your municipality DOES include one of the utilities listed then… you will either need to contact us for a script prior to being able to finalize your 2025 MS-1 Report or you can wait for the upcoming update which we should be able to send out on Monday. In the meantime, you can go ahead and preview your MS-1 with your existing version of Avitar Assessing. But plan to either contact us or install the upcoming update before you actually finalize and export your report in coordination with your assessor to submit to DRA.

And remember that you will need to have the upcoming Assessing update in order to generate your Mosaic Parcel and Sales Export files that conform with the DRA’s latest specifications.
