Problem with Printing Reports

Within the last week, we’ve received several calls from users that are unable to print multiple copies of reports at the same time from their Avitar software. If you are experiencing a similar issue, here’s what you need to know:

When printing multiple copies of a report (including receipts and deposits), the first or second copy will print and any subsequent copies will not print. This behavior, depending on your individual machine configurations, may or may not be the same on all machines in your office.

This issue is the result of two Security Updates for Microsoft Windows (KB3177725, KB3176493) that were released on August 9th. Microsoft has identified the printing issue under the “Known Issues” section of these update descriptions.

Microsoft has released a subsequent Windows Update (KB3187022) that resolves the printing issue for Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, and Windows Server 2012 R2 operating systems. An update for Windows 10 has not been released at this time. You can locate the available Windows Update from Microsoft’s Update Catalog here. Alternatively, in the meantime, you can just print one copy at a time, and then print a second copy as a separate print job by hitting the print button again from the preview window.
