Clerk/MV Hybrid Electric (HEV) Fuel Type

DMV has notified us that they will be adding a new fuel type of “H” for the Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV). This change will not require a system update from Avitar, as the Clerk system enables you to edit the fuel types maintained in your system.  Here’s how to do it…

To add the new fuel type, go to Utilities | System Administration. Under the Motor Vehicle section, select Vehicle Setup | Fuel Types. The Car Fuel Types screen displays. Select Add to display the Add field dialog box.

Step 1. Adding HEV fuel type

Enter the information into the appropriate text boxes. For example, enter “H” into the Abbreviation text box and “HEV” or “HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE” into the Description text box. Note, the Abbreviation text box has to match what DMV has in their system, so you have to enter a single “H” character. However, it does not matter what you enter into the Description text box, as it is only used to assist you in recognizing the “H” abbreviation.

Step 2. Adding HEV fuel type

Once you have entered the information, select Save. The Car Fuel Types dialog box displays and you should see the new fuel type of “H” in the grid.

As always, do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions or concerns.
