Delinquent Notice, Liening, and Deeding

We want to provide a summary for our new collectors (or for those collectors that just need a refresher) regarding Delinquent Notice, Liening, and Deeding. Below is a link to an article we sent out last February that has instructions on how to complete each process in Avitar Tax Collect, as well as additional information such as RSA references. Simply click on the link to review the topic.

Assessing Software Update 3.7.5, Part II

It was brought to our attention today that the Assessing update 3.7.5 that you’ve been downloading and installing this week also incorporates changes that we made in update 3.7.2 that some of you may be seeing for the first time. Most notably, these include changes to how you add, modify, and delete sales. You can review an explanation of those changes here within our online documentation.

Also, you should now see little blue question mark icons strategically located in various dialog boxes throughout the application. You can access context-sensitive help (i.e. a summary of functions specific to the topic at hand) by clicking on the blue question marks wherever you see them. It will load the corresponding help topic within our online documentation in your default browser.

Sorry for the oversight and any confusion it may have caused. Let us know if you have any questions.

But we’re are going to distribute it a little bit differently this time. The details are below:

Assessing Software Update

We will be releasing an update in early January. This update will allow you, first and foremost, to archive your assessment database by year from within your system, and provide you with the ability to refer back to prior years’ data at any time. Additionally, in the very near future, a subsequent update will allow you to seamlessly maintain a working copy of your current assessing database so that you or your assessor can be working on a revaluation or update while the current parcel attributes and assessments remain unchanged. So in effect, you will be able to look both backwards and forwards from within the system. Following is a list of features, as well as a few things you can do in anticipation of the update.

Upcoming Tax Collect Update

Attendees to our Tax Collect User Group at the conference in North Conway may remember that we announced that we expected to be shipping a Tax Collect update in November or December.  These same attendees may now be asking themselves, “Hey, where’s my update?” Well we are still working on it as some of the changes to notices required multiple revisions.  But we should have it ready to go by mid to late January. We swear. Here’s some of what you can expect:

Avitar Associates — Holiday Software Support

Software Support Holiday Availability

Avitar has traditionally closed our offices between Christmas and New Years as many municipal offices generally slowed down during this week and taxpayers — even more so than usual — didn’t want to be bothered by assessors measuring and listing their houses during the holidays.  However, as our number of clients has grown to include more and more tax collect and motor vehicle users, this holiday shut down has become increasingly inopportune for some clients.
